Are the handles for the ESEE 4 just going to be G10 or is there micartas in the future also? Just wondering so I know if I should hold out. Never handled g10 .

I'm not dale, don't know his plans, but I have handled micarta and G10 (the G10 Dale offers on the 4's as a matter of fact.) I like G10 it's nice material, very sturdy stuff, I'd say easily as sturdy as (if not more than) G10. As far as texture (grippiness) micarta naturally provides more grip than untextured G10. The G10 slabs that I got from dale offer a bit more grip than plain G10, they have a little bit of roughness to the surface (note little bit, not whole lot). Micarta (as offered standard by ESEE) has a little more grip/texture to it naturally.

Hope that may help just a wee bit. Also, if you go to Dale's site he has an email contact which he is really good at responding to. Though, either way, I'd be curious to know if he will offer micarta myself.

God bless,
Adam

Thanks. Not sure why I didnt send Dale an Email. I've ordered stuff from him before. Thanks again.Really wanting to try some of those new handles.

I had prototypes made with canvas & linen micarta but I am not satisfied with the way they ended up using the same coating that I developed for the G10 material so developing micarta scales has been "put on the back burner".

As was mentioned previously, our custom scales have a slight bit of texture which makes them more "grippy" than a polished handle.

Thanks for your interest!
