question for duane/mick about bt:

i've noticed on my bt that the tip to the first serration has been ground. this is something that i haven't noticed on any other bt or seal 2000, is there a reason? maybe a new change or perhaps a cool mistake? just curious. first photo is my bt w/serr. & tiger striping and the second is of a seal 2000 bt taken from yamash*ta.com's site. maybe i have a serious one of a kind or maybe some serious wishful thinking. either way, i am quite happy with my strider and look forward to doing business with you guys down the road.

Hey,
Good question, No high tech response here. It's just an extra severing notch but it was too far forward for us to complete without comprimising the tip strength.
All the best,

If you are talking about the simi- sharpened false edge, yes your very lucky.\
I think there are about fifteen or so of those.

very cool! is there a story or reason behind that? it looks like it was possibly over serrated and that semi-sharp edge was ground to blend the serration's in with the end of the blade. whatever the reason, i'm still one happy f*cking camper!

Sort of.
They were a special run. Often times we do runs of knives for certain entities.
Sometimes a few are left over.
Those were made of Dive Tool blanks. We used the serration mark as the blend point of the false edge. The reason we used BD blanks was because there was a deployment situation and we didn't have any S2K blanks.

Brief history of your knife.
Are you ready for the e-mails?

Mick

People always want to buy the rare ones.
They will more than likely be e-mailing you.
