QUESTION for FEHRMAN LC owners.

I'm really thinking of biting the bullet on one of these fantastic blades. My question is, is the Last Chance a little to pointy? The tip looks kind of thin. Is this meant as a combat tip, or does it serve some sort of field purpose (having that sudden, steep drop point shape)? I'm not a fan of combat/fighting knives, and am wondering if any of you owners think the point is a little too weak, even for 3V.

Thanks.

Never owned the Last Chance, but had an earlier Final Judgment. The tips are pretty much identical on both knives, and they are not weak by any stretch of the imagination:thumbup:! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with a Fehrman of any make. Unless, like me, you have smallish paws. That was the only reason I sold it. If the handle would have been a wee bit less wide it would have been, and still would be, the best knife I've ever owned.

The tip on a Fehrman LC is not thin at all, the blade actually gets thicker out towards the tip of the knife. If for some reason your LC is damaged Ferhman will make it right, they are excellent company to deal with.

I did a test on the LC, a Busse BA, and a Strider MK1 Mod10. The Fehrman had the sharpest, pointiest tip of all three.

While viciously stabbing a piece of oak with the LC, I missed the board and hit a very old, and very hard, concrete floor. I just about sh*t my pants. Upon inspection of the knife I found that there was some plastic deformation, but no chipping or breakage had occurred. The concrete suffered some damage. I was able to restore the tip to its original condition.

Since it was too late to turn back, (Hey, if they broke, they broke. This was a test of three knives that my life might someday depend upon), I went ahead and stabbed the concrete with the Busse and Strider, both of which had thicker, less pointy tips than the LC. They suffered the same minimal damage as the LC. I was very impressed with all three blades. (And relieved I might add)

The tip of the Fehrman LC is beyond tough enough.

I ended up keeping only the Fehrman because I liked the materials and overall design better than the other two.

Here’s the link to the test/review that I did. Unfortunately, it turned ugly when the “us versus them” crowd chimed in. Sorry about that.

I hope this answers your question.
