Question for Hellfire owners

I would like to hear from the folks who have (and use) a Kabar TDI Hellfire.

I need to know how it performs for basic cutting tasks. I realize that is NOT the knifes function. Here's my situation:

I train FMA and carry a karambit as a SD tool. I also, typically, carry a folder in my pocket because the karambit is very task specific and is horrible and cutting steak. I'm looking at the TDI Hellfire thinking that the slight recurve and pseudo point created by the tanto style blade would perform similarly to the karambit in reverse grip (not quite as effective as "drag/rip") but would lend itself more to utilitarian tasks. Basically - it looks like it traded some of its "weapon" for "tool". This might allow me to carry a SINGLE knife. While I am not in the woods, my "utility" tasks are pretty minor - cutting steak, opening packages, maybe making a rag out of old clothes.

Have any of y'all put the Hellfire to "work", like that? If so, how did it do? I can stumble through those tasks, with my karambit, but doing so is pretty difficult. I'm hoping to hear that, while it is not ideal for those tasks, the Hellfire would handle them better than the karambit.

Thanks

I don't have one, but looking at their website it appears that of the several different variations of their TDI knives, the Hellfire is the least karambit-like and closer to a regular knife in profile. It looks like it would suit your needs, especially with the slight recurve in the blade.
