# 3 Satin Jack Variant. (Pic below)

Is the back of the blade sharpened where the serrations are? It appears not. And if not, do the serrations serve any actual function, or are they just decorative?

It is at least somewhat sharpened. Look at the grind line on the swedge. That isn't there on the other SJTs.

I think "somewhat sharpened" is like "almost a virgin." Either it is or it isn't.

I'm in line for one of these.

Hope I was quick enough to get one.

It looks like it is sharpened...at least I hope it is!!

Me too, on all counts. Except that it doesn't look sharpened to me, although I hope it is.

man, i totally went for this guy thinking they were sharpened... i either didn't want or coudn't afford any of the others so luckily i didn't "choose" this one over any of the others... fingers crossed for sharpened.....

The back swedge is sharpened, but keep in mind that the geometry of a swedge grind is not the same as a primary bevel and therefore it will offer an enormous difference in penetration and give the user the ability to "saw" through webbing etc. . . .

Is that clear?

Crystal clear for me:thumbup: It's great to know the purpose of a particular feature from the knife maker's perspective.

Thanks, Jerry. I just hope I got my e-mail in under the wire.

I have one and want to sell..... but I want to know more so I can figure a fair price. It seems not many with the long swedge like this one were made. I have seen several with the shorter swedge, but not this hot looking longer one.
