kershawguy:

I love your Li'L Skinner II Model 2230 pictured in your avatar. The scrimshaw by Walter Alexander is fantastic!

...was wondering if you also have a Model 2120 Macho folder with eagle scrimshaw by Mr. Alexander in your collection?

I would love to find either of these one day...of course, I'd have to be able to afford them...:)

My apologies if there are pictures in the pictures thread that answer this question...I haven't looked through all of them yet.

Thanks for your time!

I have one on a 4200 , I don't think I have one on a 2120. I have several other scenes by him on 2120's, just got one from the bay yesterday with ducks in flight. I have a 1040 coming in the mail with a black lab on it. Alexander is by far my favorite artist , his work is very highly detailed and always anatomically correct. I have noticed you were bidding on a few of my knives on the bay, you may have noticed the 2120 I have there with the eagle on the blade, don't know who did that artwork. Thanks for the questions , always happy to talk vintage stuff , give me a shout anytime.

Thanks for the answer and additional info...

I just found some pictures of your collection in the picture thread...you have some great pieces...it looks like you might have a 2120 with eagle, along with one with a deer, but perhaps those aren't 2120s...hard to tell with small images in a group photo! I'm not familiar with the 4200 or 1040, but I'll Google to find out what those models are generally like. The black lab sounds great!

Edit: I just discovered my eyesight's become so bad that I can't tell an eagle from a duck...you were right, of course, no 2120 with eagle in those pictures anyway...

I've always loved scrimshaw but never tried to acquire any before. My wife's Mom passed away recently and we found a bone brooch in her jewelery box scrimshawed with a polar bear and acquired on a trip to Alaska. It's pretty simply done, but actually pretty decent, and it reminded me of how much I really like scrimshaw. So I decided to start keeping an eye out for some, especially combined with this other increasingly obsessive love, knives (especially Kershaws)!

I've got to go check out the eagle-bladed 2120 you have on eBay...

Thanks again, Dave!

Not to make kershawguy drool too much, but there was this little gem done up as well. This is a 2120 also.

kershawguy isn't the only one drooling! Those are truly beautiful!

Thanks, Thomas, for the pictures!

Sorry Dann, you can come back and play , but be nice Walter Alexander is my guy, I seriously do drool over those. I would really like to meet that guy someday, he is quite talented.
