Been looking at picking up an older PST and wanted to ask if it’s worth it to seek out models from a certain time frame or country of manufacture (US vs Japan) or if they’re all pretty much in the same ballpark. I’ve had a skeletool and a rebar but the old style and simplicity calls to me. Let me know your experiences with these classics.

For what reason? as a collectible, might as well get what you want, when you can, for the price you are willing to pay. For users, I'd actually go with newer, like the Bond, or just pick up whatever is available cheap. In my opinion, the newer ones are better, they have made improvements along the way in terms of strength and overall design. Anything you buy vintage is effectively going to be at your own risk for use since the warranty will net you a new tool, rather than a repair at this point (in all likelihood). It would defeat the purpose to spend enough on a vintage tool that you were then not willing to carry. But then, that's how I think, and you are not me.
