Down in L.A., i think there's a city code for it, but I think it's for blades over 3in. here in No. Cal., where I work, there's no illegality to a 2" blade (unless, of course, it's used criminally, etc)...California law says it's o.k., unless it's carried locked open, and concealed, but closed and concealed is o.k....
