Mr. Becker,

I absolutely love cooking but I also love the great outdoors. Since we tend to spend more time indoors have you ever thought about designing a kitchen knife block set? After my experience with your Becker line of knives...I would buy them in a heart beat :) Also in your opinion which of those becker knives would work the best as a chef's knife? I would love to hear your input or whoever else has an opinion.

the magnum camp is probably the clear winner as a chef's knife.

i want to see a scale down (tweener) magnum camp as the ultimate steak knife :> but that's me

Damn right. Got a pink Izula, too. Why is pink such a wonderful color? Oh, now I remember . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :D:thumbup:

Great pictures Cody. I think thats what I love most about the Beckers. They can be "brutes", processing wood, splitting, and batoning but also can be finesse things like chop dice mince and slice like some of the best chef knives. Beauty and Beast. "Tale as old as tiiiime...." um...yeah...

Thanks fellas, the slicing ability and the cutting geometry that Tooj and Ethan have put on the BK9 is, IMO, what sets it apart from the sharpened prybars. Yet it performs with the best of them.
Here is a little comparison I did.

Same number of strikes per blade. You can see it held it's own against my golok, cutlass machete, and my husqvarna hatchet. Look at what it did next.

Took a nice bend going through.

Finished up the battoning with my BK2. My first gen from kabar with a zero degree convex, on the grind, and my new 2nd gen.

Great knives!!!

+1 on the Magnum Camp for a chef's knife, I use my mine all the time. Best thing ever for slicing. I don't have a pink cutting board though. Well, sometimes, if I'm not payng as much attention as I should be....:o

You would know, I've seen what you wear out and about town.:D Moose

i freaked someone i know because i knew more than ROY G BIV for colors :) they're an ARTEEST you see. she was like "but... you're like, a normal person, HOW do you KNOW that?" me? "i'm SOOOO not normal" :}

That would, I think, require a new handle. Perhaps not. The BK2 has a 5" blade, and its a standard handle but, there's enough steel on the blade to even out the balance. The weight and balance of the BK5 as is, is STELLAR. Toooj and his magic computer program has made serious improvements to ALL Becker knives weight distribution. Kabar has made the steel, about as good as 1095 can do.

Interesting concept, machine, a real thought provoker. Good stuffe.
