What is the very first Busse or one of the earliest ones, or one that made Busse get known ????

I think that the one that put Busse Combat on the map was the original Steel Heart. Anyway, when the ads came out for these it was the first time I had heard of Busse.

At that time I was not into knives in a big way. The SH appealed to me but at the price I resisted. Now I wish I had ordered a dozen of them.

I am in complete agreement Mike. Except I wish I had bought two dozem of them!

Jerry stated that the Bird & Trout pre-dated the Sharks. Don't know what pre-dates the B&T.

Agreed that the Steel Heart got Busse rolling on a wide-spread basis.

I had seen them at local shows years ago. If only I'da bought blades instead of beer.....

Don't feel bad Mike. When I think of all the money I spent on surplus junk, Cold Steel and other assorted blades that escape my memory, it makes me sick. I could have easily bought a few SH1's. Of course I would probably have done something stupid like trade them before I ever realized their value, so perhaps it all happened for the best. :D

Brendan,
I think this is a great question. (2 questions really)

Jerry has been making custom pieces for years, many of which we have never seen pics of. These were pieces he was making and selling at shows. Long before the Steel Heart and long before there was a "Busse Combat"

I agree that the Steelheart is probably the knife that put them so far ahead of the pack.

Still some of those early pieces were truly incredible.

:D:D

Those are some of the most interesting questions I've heard in while. Now, if I just knew the answers...

That is sick skunk, I think you should sell me one so you will then have an even number.

:D

i did have an even number 12 and i do have one left to sell, i just haven't had the time to put it on the for sale forum. it's really nice and evidently the very first sh1 that jennifer ground. but..... i need a plane ticket to blade so it's got to go. :(

Man I thought the plan was for you to follow you-know-who down to Blade and see where he buries the PVC...........

All this talk about Steel Hearts - will Busse be taking orders for the Fusion Steel Hearts at Blade (or any other models for that matter?), or will we have to wait until it is released on their website? I think the Fusion model shown on Bad MOJO is the best looking variation to date. I'm also partial to the Satin Jack (heck they all look great).
