Just got my first Airus this week (gen 4).... Wow... It's amazing!
favorite folder I have ever had... And that includes some shiros... The ergos, lock up, the ACTION... Made is US... It's just an absolute home run and I love it!

My question/comment is that the tip seems a hair delicate... I wasn't really expecting that... The hollowgrind is amazing! But I expected it to carry a bit more meat up to the tip ala sebenza style hollowgrind.

Has anyone had any issues with this? Granted there is decent blade width, but my initial response is slightly nervous about using the tip for it for zip ties or kids toy packaging etc... Someone put my fears to rest lol as this knife is amazing and I want to carry/use it a lot!

Congrats! Post pics if you haven't already.

I wouldn't worry about it, people use garbage steels in garbage knives everyday without issue. If the tip breaks from that kind of use, Bill should take care of you. I don't have a Koenig, waiting on CF drop, but they have a great reputation with CS.

Good idea :) I braved the -24 wind chill and grabbed a pic... added a video too as the action is just too good not to share! Got my first snail trail tho :-( Oh well... at least it's out of the way now lol.

Now I'm questioning my decision to wait for the CF model lol. I had a milled Ti one in the cart and passed on it.
The milling is amazing... I wasn't sure if I would like it over smooth... but I absolutely love it! Texture is just phenomenal... it's adds a similar amount of grip as like a PJ sebenza... without the sandy feeling tho... if that makes any sense lol. It's not rough... it hardly even "feels" milled if you aren't thinking about it - just feels grippy.

Glad you’re digging it.

I haven’t had any issues with the tip, but it’s only been since last November that I have demoted one to work rotation, where my knives actually see serious use.

I snapped an S110V PM2 at the Spydie hole a few years back, I like to think I learned from that. So, even with my work knives, I try to keep it to cutting tasks, and not just straight up abuse.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use any of my Arii on zip ties or clamshells.

Good feedback...yea I don't ever pry . . About the worst the tip would see would be zip tie popping... Man,that must have taken some work to break a PM2 at the hole...

Shockingly little, really. Looking at the cross section where it broke, there really is surprisingly little there, everything below the hole is pretty thin. I think the brittleness of that particular steal had as much to do with that, though.

Would have been a much worse day had it been an Arius.
