Welcome to the Forum, Paul! Not too long ago we had a topic posted on heat treating with torches.
It boils down to many new knife makers wanting to heat treat their own first efforts. What in your opinion is the cheapest and most effective way to heat treat simple oil quenched steels at home?
As a learner myself I am more than a little interested in this! I have been using hand held propane torches with some luck (just how effective I've been is up in the air!) and I am in the process of building a small propane forge. But what should the guy with little money to spend do at first? Thanks for your insights for all the learners!-Guy Thomas
