Question for people who have dyed G10 scales….

I have a Leatherman Charge in orange G10 that I tried dying with some Rit Dye Synthetic “graphite” color which is basically black. Spent 20 minutes in the dye and came out looking brown (I actually don’t think it looks that bad, may even keep it this way).

Anyone have any experience dying orange G10 black? Should it dye darker if I try and dye it again? Does it usually take a long time?

I had similar results dying my orange FRN spyderco with the graphite color. I expected gray based on the color name but it was more of a brown/rootbeer color. I got black from using the black rit dye. It didn't take long at all, maybe 3 minutes or less.

I'm not sure if g-10 will yield the same results but it might be worth a shot.

Not that my opinion means anything, but I actually like the look of that. Nice dark color with a touch of uniqueness.
