We were discussing in another thread whether or not it would be possible to add the 560 to pete's by just adding the handle. Would that work or is there more invlolved?
 
Adding 560 handles to Pete's??? Why, that's the silliest thing I ever......?????? hmmmmm........

Okay. Yes it is doable, and it is one of the things we're considering (planning, actually) for additions to the shoppe. The Titanium handles that we would use are the White Christal finish.

The new PCKS design is coming very soon and will debut with some new inlays and one more blade. When we finally get all of the bugs worked out, we plan to really get some use out of that thing.

In other words, great idea mschwoeb!

Yes/No.

The new blade is actually a Violet Ionfusion. Looks great with Nickel Silver.

We have D2 material on order in plate large enough to make several hundred blades. We ordered it several weeks ago, but unfortunately steel has a verrry long lead time.

Violet? I'm having a hard time imagining the handle material that would look good with. Something in Lavender, for the ladies who want a dainty 110 to carry in their purse?

hmmmm, that could be cool I guess.
So, are we talking light purple, dark purple, or blue-purple? If it looks like metal that has been heated to blue/purple, then I might have to have one.
 
So whatever became of the rumor of adding other blade shape options to the custom shop. Like the 500 or something? Or the Vanguard? Did that just get dropped?

It's no rumor. We're moving forward with the Vanguard and Zipper for the shoppe. Most of the materials are here on hand, but we don't want to put it on line until we have all of the materials ready to go.

Now you're killing me!! I'm still not sold on the violet ionfusion, but I WANT to get to the new PCKS and other inlay materials!!!

(not to mention the D2! ;) )
 
I am trying without much success to envision a violet iofusion blade on a PCKS 110 and what possible handle and inlay would combine with it to produce a knife that would not induce nausea. I don't think that there is such a combination.

No, I think that Pete Q is exhibiting the driest sense of humor that has appeared on this forum ever. Pete, you have taken me in and I salute you.
 
At least it doesn't appear to be a "girly" (forgive me if I have offended anyone) violet.

So what else can ya' tell us Pete? Is the elk horn going to replace the stag?
What other handle materials will be available? G10? Micarta? Curly maple?:D

Will the handle material selection be the same vanguard?

Elk horn? I'm guessing this has to do with the availability/price of Sanbar stag?
I can live with that!
A BG-42 Vanguard with horn handle would make a nice brother for my Stag 110 with BG-42 serrated!!!:D

A purple blade, eh. I admit that it’s unusual. Personally, I don’t think it would have been on my hot list for PCKS additions. My biggies for the 110 would most likely be:

1. dual thumb stud option
2. filework option
3. drop point blade shape option
4. lanyard hole option
5. D2 steel option
6. Titanium handle option (with pocket clip)
7. screws instead of rivets option


I have to admit though, that elk handle look beautiful!!!

I wish I didn't have to tell you about the new site, I wish I could say check it out instead. I'd give you guys a best guess for when it'll be ready, but I don't want to jinx the whole project.

What else will it have?

* Violet Ionfusion - Girly? Maybe. Could be a whole new market too.
* D2 steel is forthcoming

* Tan Elk Horn - not to replace anything, we're just happy to get any kind of horn on there.

* Smooth Asian Waterbuffalo - Looks awesome
* Koa Flame Pattern wood - from Hawaii, grown in the sun.
* Titanium (560) handles - We'll work on the belt clip thing

* Another forthcoming thing: "send-us-your-horns-(or whatever)-and-we'll-make-a-knife-out-of-it" - We'll call it something more catchy than that.

Ooooo.... Koa, BG42, brass, and beer... oops, which one doesn't belong? Little late for me here on the east coast on a week night.
