Hi Phil, I recently bought a plain edge spear pont CUDA and I'm very impressed with it. It has "first production run" on the blade and I was wondering how many of them have this. Also, a couple of questions regarding the design. My model has the clip screws only going into the G10. Is this normal or do the later models have the clip screws going into the liners. The action on my blade on opening and closing is VERY light and I tried to tighten it up a bit, but to my suprise the pivot screw is not adjustable. I tightened it up as far as it would go with no affect at all. I had read somewhere on this forum to play around with the stop pin screws, but they are also as tight as they'll go. Overall I am very happy with the CUDA but I would like to be able to adust the pivot tension myself. I am loathe to send it all the back to the USA for just this minor problem, I can live with the light pivot tension. Is their anything I can do to thighten it up myself, there must be a simple fix for this. Thanks Pete

Peter,

The "First Production Run" was limited to the first 1000 knives of each model
The clip screws go into the G10 only because the button slot is also in the liner lock where the threaded holes would need to be.
If you have tightened the pivot screws as far as they can go & you still want the action tighter then you would need to take out the blade pivot bronze bushing & CAREFULLY file off about 0.001". I would be glad to take care of this for you but understand that shipping from Australia is not the best choice!! Good luck. If shortening the bushing is a problem I could always send you a new one. Let me know if I can help.

Double post terminated.

Thanks for the advice Phil, I'll try it out. Have you thought of putting the clip on the rear of the handle/ The clip on mine got caught on the seatbelt as we were intercepting a vehicle and I was in a hurry to get out. The clip was pulled from the knife and I've tried to screw it back in using plenty of loctite but the holes are now too big for the screws. I was thinking of using larger screws but I'm worried that something like this will happen again. Hence I'm back to carrying a BM AFCK.

Peter,
Sorry to hear of your incident with the seatbelt. Please email me directly your shipping address & I'll send you some replacement parts.

Phil, could you send me an email and I'll reply with the address. I can't seem to access your email via this forum. Thanks

Peter
