R.A.T. , I have heard you say acouple of times that your favorite rat is the rc-6 . Also that the rc-5 is your least favorite. I like the rc-6 a lot and was just wondering why it is your favorite and also why the rc-5 is your least favorite? I'm shure your reasons come from lots of experience and there I am lacking. So I I would just like to hear about your reasons .

I would like to hear from anyone else aswell just wanted to be shure I would hear from the man himself.

Thanks

I love the RC6 due to two main reasons 1. blade length 2. blade thickness Those two reason allow me to accomplish alot without having to pack multiple items. I can make do with the RC6 to cook, harvest fire wood ETC if I had to
The RC5 I like and own but it is short 1/4"thick blade and weight is it 's drawn back to me...plus it was not designed with the woodsman inmind. I really like the RC5 but I prefer the utility factor of the RC6 IMO

I like my RC-6 due to it being a long blade. Even though I'm sure that the RC-5 is tougher, I probably won't abuse mine enough to merit the extra weight.

Since I like to go backpacking on occasion. I feel as it's the right size for me. But everyone has a different opinion. My dad for example is not a knife person, and thinks it's ungodly huge and way too heavy to carry around.

Don't have a 5 but have tried it in the store, but I like the 6 well. good balance, not quite as heavy.

Balance is better, length is better, grind is better and cutting efficiency is better on the 6 than on the 5. I don't use knives as pry bars so i don't need the extra heft. The 6 also makes better fuzz sticks! :D

Good God! Is every thread about FUZZ STICKS? I felt so bad about my sorry fuzz sticks, I quit showing them on the other forum. Enough! I am going to put a razor edge on my RC-6 and make some fuzz sticks.
