Will the blade be fully or partially serrated on these new versions of the Gunting? When do you expect to ship them?

Thanks very much for the info,

DPD

DPD-

Here's a knife broker who had three serrated Guntings. They were for sale a week ago.

Terry Pritchard
bladebroker@email.com

I did not inquire if they were full or partial. I seem to recall in some posting of Bram's that the blade was fully serrated.

On that other issue that you asked about, e-mail me off-forum and we'll chat.

Stay safe,
Seth

Wel I have a couple..they are partially serrated..50-50..OK?
I'm waiting on a custom fully serrated to see what it looks like..

very cool.

Thanks very much, gentlemen. I'm most interested in hearing about how the fully serrated custom knife turns out. Should be outstanding!

Question for Bram: Will you be doing any seminars in the LA area in the next few months?

Thanks again,

DPD.

Jim and Seth,

Thank you very much for recommending me. I do everything I can to live up to the words spoken of me here on the forums.

I have one more serrated Gunting on hand as of this moment. More on the way in one week. Also I try to keep all the accessories on hand. Belt holsters, single and double shoulder holsters, video tapes and of course a good supply of bengay and band-aids.

Terry firmly required that I buy the introductory tape for the Gunting and I can't thank him enough. As I have said before, it does not teach all of the martial arts moves, but it very effectively shows why you should not do certain things with a live Gunting, the very things that have read about when people complain about being bit by their Guntings.

One more DON'T: do not just drop your Gunting into your pocket. I did in a moment of "brain fade" (racing term, it's like brake fade) and it landed "tip up". The next time that I reached into my pocket, my hand touched the "horn" and the blade started to come open in my pocket. Fortunately, I caught it in time and closed it before and injury or damage was done, but it did scare me and remind me to be careful with it. I may also tighten the pivot a touch.

I keep the pivots tight on mine as well. I highly recommend the training drone. If you handle as if were a live blade, you'll spot bad habits before the live blade teaches the lesson in a hard-edged manner.

Seth, thanks for the comment. but I do NOT use my Gunting as a martial arts knife, I use it as a utility EDC knife for working in Washington, DC, where the blade limit is 3". Since I have arthritic hands, I needed a knife with a large hilt and large controls thatwould be easy on stiff digits. The Gunting fills the bill admirably. I do not make mistakes with it except when I have brain fade. I was asleep on my feet that evening and did not take the care that I normally take when using a knife, but the slight extra care built into the way I handle any and all dangerous items, even if half asleep, kept me from doing greater damage, that and a little luck. I have repeatedly said to those who ask that,if you are buying a Gunting for its martial arts purpose, get not only the tape that I mentioned, but also the red practice knife and the instructional tapes that Bram puts out.

Sorry if I presumed that your uses were defense oriented. When you mentioned the martial arts tape, I jumped to the conclusion that your main use was self-defense.

By the way, I have cerebal palsey in my hands, I agree the Gunting is ideal for those that have dexterity issues.

Hugh & Seth... I want to thank both of you from "in my heart" for being willing to try and see the GUNTING as a useful utility knife that helps you deal with everyday life...
Both of you make me smile because the knife is usable for the two of you...
thanks for giving it a chance!!!!!
