Question for Sal

Sal - I see certain people customizing their Spydies most beautifully (see Vass's latest post). I have a SS dragonfly that I would like to take apart & customize (esp. adding filework). If I carefully pry the fly apart (fully aware that this voids the warrantee of course) are all the pins straight barrels that will slip out of the scales (and hopefully can be compressed back in), or is it something more complicated that I will irretrievably destroy?

It can be done...very carefully. If you don't damage the pins getting them out. Getting them out is more difficult that you might think, so work slowly and carefully.

thanks for the info Sal! Well, now I have a project that can keep me busy for quite a while! If it works, I'll be sure to post pics of the results. If it doesn't . . . I'll be buying one of the new, revamped flys as soon as they are available.
