I did a search, but my skills are lacking, so if this was covered I apologize. My question is- What type of steel is the blade on my Uncle Henry Lockable Hunter? Pattern 127UH. Dad bought it sometime in the early 80's. Thanks for the help. Dave

If marked "Schrade +", it was 440A.

I think all the Uncle Henry's were 440A.

There are a very few fixed blades Uncle Henry with 1095 Carbon. Some of the early ones. With folders, there are a few early Schrade Walden 285UH trappers with 1095.

I just know the plus symbol means stainless. I am assuming if there is no plus symbol it is carbon? Not sure, just asking.

Sometimes it was 440A,B,or C depending on the model and steel availability at the time. I'll see if I can find what specifically was used on that model tonight. Regardless of what was used, they all rc'd out the same.

Eric
