How do you maintain a shiny shaved scalp? I razor shave every other day. I'd love to find a product that is the opposite of Rogaine that would kill off hair growth permanently.

What's up CM?! I was just talking about this with my daughter earlier today--I get pretty tired of shaving every damn day, and buying Headslick and Fusion blades is a drain on the wallet. If you find that magic potion, let me know, brother!! :D

Would something like Nair work?

EDITED TO ADD: Shortly after posting the above, I worried that I might be suggesting something dangerous (as in possible chemical burns.) So I googled: nair bald head and discovered that Nair is NOT recommended for the scalp. I did find someone recommending the mildest formula of a product called Magic Shave. Please google all this for yourself. I am not responsible for your burned head. :)

Nope - just a razor, every other day like you note. Doesn't take long, at least it doesn't me. Shiny head in about 5 minutes.

For nice shiney smooth skin try Nivea after shave balm. Its like a thin lotion that softens and smooths skin. Also using a good quality shave cream/soap will help stop drying the skin out. I don't head shave, but have spent a lot of tme and money looking for the perfect quality shave for myself.

Also try Shave secret. Comes in a small bottle, you have to really look for it at Wal Mart. I use it all the time now. I get a razor to last 3 to 5 times as long using this stuff and a much closer shave. Only takes 5 or 6 drops for the face.

Stop hair growth. Death. But that is for the weak...

Grow that shit out and move out of the furnace..

Why shave? Stubby hair looks better and it's not really that much hotter + you don't have to shave all the time. Just my opinion.

If you find out let me know...It takes two days for me to get five o'clock shadow on my face, but only till about noon on my head. Honestly, I haven't found anything better than the good old razor.

This I just set the clippers to zero once a week don't think I would get much more time between cuts by shaving .

I used to skin my head but razor blades cost way to much and I found trying too stretch them out just caused me too take longer to shave so now I'm back to using my clippers with no guard every two weeks.

Thats what I used to do as well. Stayed nice and short all week. However, a few years ago I found the Wahl Peanut. It's a beast, and lasts forever. Also cuts a lot closer than regular clippers. Converted a friend of mine to them too. Best clippers I've owned, and I've bought quite a few in the last 17 or so years I've been shaving my head.

Thanks for the heads up [Pun intended] been looking for some new clippers would that be the cordless model your talking about ?

It gets hot.
I strongly suggest that you consider buzzing as an alternative. I buzzed my hair because I live in the sweaty ball sack of 'merica!
I buzzed my hair for 7 years. It's a great alternative to shaving it bare. Just buzz it once weekly. The problem is, you need a heavy duty trimmer for that. Oster Classic 76 would be a good investment. If you go down this path, don't bother with a cheapy Wahl trimmer. You'll be lucky to last half a year with that thing at the frequency with which you will buzz. Once a week was the max for me. I'd lapse to once every two weeks here and there. I just started growing my hair out again actually, so no more buzzing for me...until I get bored of the long hair that is.

Shaving my head daily is something I don't think I'd want to deal with. I have enough other things to worry about.

EDIT: Guardless = pretty damn short hair.

EDIT 2: Thread is worthless without pics.
less than a week's worth of hair growth in this pic.
