Question for Spyderco Calypso Jr.

I have a very little used spyderco Calypso Jr (VG10 steel) that I like it a lot for the blade shape and cutting ability.
But the tip of blade is bias when it is closed. The blade is warped to let the tip uncentered from my observation.

I wonder what can I do for this knife? Can I have a replace one if I send this knife back to Spyderco?

Thanks for your input,
Joe

Joe, the VG-10 Calypso Jr has been out of production for quite some time, so I doubt replacement would be an option as I don't think Spyderco has any left in inventory.

In addition, the issue you describe is generally only cosmetic, it does not effect the usability, or durability of the knife unless the warpage is so severe as to make the tip of the knife rub against the inside of the handle. It is also something that has been a know issue with full flat ground Calypso Jr. blades from the original micarta one, all the way to the latest ZDP-189 version. Mostl specimens of any style are fine, but a percentage of each style are warped.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I really understand the uncenetered tip doesn't bother at all when I use the knife to cut or anything I can do with the knife.
I only wish the knife has better outlooking because it's one such great design knife with satisfied cutting ability and super light weight.
People told me don't ask too much for a fair price folder from Spyderco.
But I think japan manufactures have to offer better quality products for Spyderco great design. Just my opinion.
I'm happy to carry this folder for use for sure.

Regards,
Joe

It is a great knife, I have only three and wish I had more. You could sell it on e-bay if you get suick of it.

I have this same problem and the problem for me is as follows. I tightened the pocket clip screws too tight. For some reason it makes the blade off center exactly as in your picture. My cure was red (or blue if you want to get the clip off again) loctite. Dab a little on each of the screws threads and don't tighten it down harder than finger pressure. The blade will sit in the center, at least on mine. Try it and let me know.

I made this exact thread about two years ago. The Caly Jr. is the knife that made me realize that offcenter blades drive me insane.
