What is the absolute biggest bicycle wheel and frame size available? All the ones I see just won't accomodate someone with a 37 inch inseam and 38" shirt sleeves.:(

Mountain or Road? Most makers have a 29er now in a mountain bike. An extra large frame and 29" wheels should handle you.

I used to ride a larger/longer bike...but found that a smaller bike was a heckuva lot more fun...*shrug*.

What's your interest in cycling? on or off-road? hard or soft tail?

Mike, this mountain bike forum has a special subforum just for 29ers (second subforum down). You might ask some questions there. The site has pretty good traffic, and some of the guys are knowledgeable.

Mostly for fitness, something to add to my present exercise routines. Stationary exercise bikes can make thirty minutes seem like three days.

Also, the idea of a bike has started to intrigue me again. Maybe it's my second childhood. Dang, I hope so, the first was so much fun!

I actually despise riding outside for exercise....:foot:......I tried it for a while and it took all the fun of riding out for me. I quickly figured out that I prefer destination riding...fortunately, they built a sweet bike park not too far from me...gotta get outta the shop and get down there more often. Here's a link to it: http://www.slaughterpen.com/home.html

I'm opposite you, I guess....I really like stationary bikes....the "semi-recumbant" kind especially...that's probably the best and most consistant exercise I've ever had...put me on a bike in front of the tv or with a good audio-book...and I'm good to go. :p

Mike with your 37 inch inseam you are talking a really tall bike obviously. In MTB's, the minimum size will be a 25-27 inch. In road bikes your looking at a 64-65 cm classic frame. That should give you a place to start. Great thing is that if there is a bike shop that has your size, they'll give you a good discount as most people won't buy that bike unless they work at a circus.

One good aspect of a bike to fit you, Mike... you could carry that 'Chernobyl Meltdown Battle Mistress' in a scabbard on the bike... maybe one on each side - they'd make a neat bike stand... anywhere!

Of course, I'd need a bike built for two... and a wide load sign. See you Wed AM!

Stainz

PS War Eagle anyway!
