Question for the Classic MM Experts

Howdy all,

Just got my first ever Classic MM, a large with calfskin inlays from 2001. I disassembled and cleaned it for what I believe to be the first time in it's life (lanyard was still tied and the inside was CRUSTY) and now it is right up there with the smoothest Sebenzas I've ever felt. Is it normal that the bottom of the inlays/tape are visible in the lockbar relief cut? I want to say I've seen this discussed before but a quick search didn't turn up any results. Thanks!

Gorgeous CRK, hell of a score. I almost regret letting go of the one I had. I believe that’s for removal of the inlay, so yes that’s normal.

Thanks! The 21 has always been my favorite Sebenza but the classic is now a strong contender and this one definitely won't be my last. I really love the handle feel with flush/"soft" inlays. I'm a little concerned about the durability of the leather inlays, though this knife is clearly a user and they have survived 24 year so far so maybe my worries are unwarranted. Going to do my best to keep them cleaned and conditioned so they don't shrink, crack, or otherwise deform.
