Which of the black handled fixed blades were in the original line? I`m thinking that the following were in it, but am not sure, or if I`m missing some.

102
103
105
116
118
119
120
121

Am I even close?

I could add that the 103 concept started out being called the 110 (before the 110 folder we all know and love).

You seem to have everything pretty well figured as far as I know.

Yes, thats the original line from 1961. A couple were added in the late 60's and 3 more in the 70's. DM

The 103 was called the 110 in 1961 but changed in the '62 catalog. The 121 wasn't added to the line up till 1964. In 1961 you also had the twin sets, the 104 which was the 110/103 and 102, the 115 comprised of the 103 and 118, and the 117 that had the 103 and the 116. The only one I can think of that was added in the '70s was the 124/122.

Thanks Larry. We've had members say they bought their 122 or 124 in the late 60's. Plus, Buck's own literature states 1967 for those models. Then the 401 Kalinga is another which Buck's literature states 1969 for its mfg. date. DM

Hi JK. You mostly like using high carbon steels for your knives (01, 1095). Did you know Buck recently used D2 for one of their models? DM
