Question for the military folks

Have any of the military members here been to (Edited) recently? I was curious what kind of knives, if any, they allow. Right now I am hearing mixed feelings from the folks I work with about whether they even care if a knife comes in. The knife I have in mind is a Buck 110 since it will more than fill my cutting needs and wont be a huge loss if broken/stolen/lost.

I find that what is and isn't allowed depends primarily on local and unit commanders. You have to find one ... and ask.

Afraid that really did not help. All they knew was that pornography and pork products are a no go. Just wanted to hear from folks that have actually been through it recently.

Thank you. That was the last thing that I could find on it as well. Also, no auto's, bali's, or "concealed" knives. Assume they meant knives hidden in non knife looking shells.

Something like that. On my way through, I had a Delica and a Busse Boss St. in my bag. They went through the x-ray, and the customs guy didn't seem to care.

Thank you very much. That was the input I was looking for. It is one thing to have it say all is well, and another to chance an inspector on a bad day. Worst case, if it became an issue I could let go of it.
