Question for the old school Kershaw experts...

I received a gift today from my uncle. It's an old Kershaw fixed blade. It's in near perfect shape and he said he got in the early 80s. I'm getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan and he thought maybe I could use it. I'm not sure I'll actually take it but the fact he cared I find endearing. He's awesome. Anyway, here is the knife and I know nothing about it. If anyone has any info on what it is, the kind of steal and any other interesting facts I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

PS: sorry for the crappy pic. I don't really have a good camera.

Oh cool. The sheath is stamped "Lake Oswego, Oregon" and it seems the knife itself was made in Japan... that sound about right?

I started a thread over in General Knife Discussion about older knives from Kershaw, Benchmade, and Spyderco. I asked if anyone had any knives from the earliest days of those companies. I didn't get any hits at all, which to me was surprising. This knife looks like exactly what I was talking about, an older style Kershaw.

Cool knife. Thanks for the pic!

Thats quite the collection. Very cool pic. Thanks for sharing. And thanks also for the info. I think I'm just gonna pack this one away for safe keeping. Being a gift makes it a bit sentimental.
