Question for the ZT experts, 550 oddity.

Noticed something strange about one of my 550s yesterday and thought those more knowledgeable may have an explanation. This example, serial number 4976 gen 2, has the vertical clip screw holes for the gen 2 clip on the lock side but has the horizontal clip screw holes for the gen 1 clip on the G10/liner side. Why would this be, perhaps someone mistakenly or intentionally put parts from a gen 1 and gen 2 together, maybe factory error? Anyone else have one like this or heard of this before?

Not really a big deal to me as I am a righty but if you purchased this and wanted to carry lefty you would have to find a gen 1 clip, anyone have an extra gen 1 clip they don't need? Thanks for reading and any help you may have.
 
I have seen these referred to as Gen 1.5

ZT will remedy this for you if you send it in, if I'm remembering correctly. Sorry I can't offer any further insight.
 
^ this is true. It was a transition phase and ZT would fix it for you.
 
Thanks for the answer to my question gentlemen, I believe I have read that ZT won't sell parts for something like this and just ship them out to you will they? Not sure if it's worth the cost to send it in from Canada to fix it if it may not be an issue for me, but I will consider it.

I doubt they will send out a liner and scale. They will however gladly send out the Gen 1 clip. You can get in black by requesting a clip for a 0350.
