Question for those of you that have handled tweeners

I've been thinking about the tweeners quite a bit lately (just had my birthday, and was wishing they were already out), and I realized that I had a quick question about them. Maybe its just another excuse to talk about them, I'm not really sure.

How do they compare to the ESEE 4? I'm assuming that they are going to be going after the same category. I also figure they'll be cheaper, likely have not quite as nice sheaths and come with grivory.

Mostly, I guess I'm wondering how the handles feel in comparison to the ESEE 4, as well as the ergonomics.

I know I'll be getting one, and will likely be getting a buddy of mine one as well when the come out (slowly converting more people to beckers, my dad came to visit last week and loved the 9, but probably will end up getting the 7 to keep at his cabin), so I guess I just like having a bit more info.

Thanks guys :).

I have an ESEE 4 and really like it. It's a damn good knife. However, the handles don't compare IMO. The tweeners have thicker slabs with the same attention to ergos that their big brothers do. Very, very comfortable handles in just about any grip.

Thats the kind of feedback I was hoping to hear. I love the becker handles, and think they're one of my favorite things about the knives. Glad to hear that the new tweener handles are just as good.

Perfect. I've probably handled them more than anyone, cept E and Bladite. Perfect is the best description I got. Ergos are off the charts, your hand just molds around them. Enough handle to offer leverage on strong cuts, and the blades are the right size for great belt knife.

And the final designs are in, no more protos, just a knife that should fit in everywhere.

OK Moose...I just ordered a BHK Bushcrafter in Fiddleback Maple...is the Camp Tweener going to put that knife in the safe? I use all my knives so the BHK is a planned user for sure. Is the Camp Tweener that sweet that I will go to it over the Bushcrafter?

the tweeners are ALIVE in the hand like few knives i've held

the magnum camp tweener? good lord. i think i pocketed most of the prototypes before they caught me ;)

(they took me alive fortunately)

the others are merely okay :) okay. outstanding :}

you're all going to cry when you handle them :] and write poetry. then sell your other knives.

I have a feeling that the tweeners will replace my BK2 carry status when out and about, and that whichever tweener I get and the BK9 will be my normal woods pair. From the sound of it, I might not be alone.

Its interesting for me to hear that the mini magnum feels so much different than the others. In my minds eye, I still can't stop thinking of it as a sweet steak knife for some reason.

Also, since the designs are final... is there a chance we could get a photo of the drop tweener next to the BK2? We already saw the Minimag tweener and the BK5...

Please?

I can't speak to the Tweener as I have never handled one but a big thumbs up to BHK as a whole and especially to the Bushcrafter. It is an excellent knife. I have one of the older maple handled ones with the black blade and a newer one in butterscotch micarta. Those and the baby Bushcrafter are top notch blades. You will love your I'm sure.

TO the Tweeners, there are two of them that are a must for me and the clip point is a maybe. I feel very confident that they will be everything they are touted.

Beyond the Izula II and the HEST fixed, I don't have any of the smaller ESEE's. The flatter scales just don't fit my hand as well as I'd like.
I did some carving and whittling with the Tweener drop point at the first Becker Gathering. It was much more comfortable to me with the Becker contours.

I like a fuller handle as well. I have an old RAT 3 and it's a nice knife but just seems to be missing something in the hand. The Izula II though w/micarta is just perfect for me.

It's possible the BHK will become a safe queen.
I have very wide hands and the tweener handles feel great.
The ESEE4 with stock scales is an OK knife - with the aftermarket extended G10, it's great.
The mini-camp tweener could easily kick that knife out of my rotation.
The mini-magnum has a 5.5" blade and may make a better food prep knife than the original.

Has anyone seen the stock tweener grivory yet? I really want to know how that looks, I don't want the micarta.

SHOT show opens Tuesday, January 17 at 8:30. So here you go: Countdown to Tweeners :D

Kinda off topic, but since Guyon has made this count down for us. Has a price on them been set yet?? I'd like to know how many body parts I don't need/use that I would need to sell to get a mini mag. :D

Will they be available to buy at SHOT also??

damn. I guess that means I'll have to spend my money on something else then. How much dose an esee4 cost? ;)

I'm kidding!!! :D

I really want to know if we can get them at SHOT mostly. I have a buddy going to it, and I'm gonna try to talk him into picking me one up if they are there for sale.
