Question for Umfaan owners with G2 sheath??

Just got an Umfaan and have been carrying it in my pocket still in the CR provided pouch. I was wondering is the G2 sheath suitable for in the pocket carry and how does it compare to the pouch? Is the sheath smaller then the pouch and therefore feels smaller/lighter/not as cumbersome than using the pouch in the pocket?

JTurner -- I have my setup here to go back 5 days. On page 2, Gary initiated a post. I suggest you go there, get his e-mail address, and write directly to him. He is very friendly and approachable.

I've never heard of a G2 sheath for anything but belt wear, but could well learn differently via this.
 
Thanks Bugs, you are correct, the sheaths I make are mainly for belt carry, though some I suppose would place the whole package in the pocket but the top section wouldn't be protected then, so I'd not recommend it.

I've made some deer skin slip sheaths, they were meant for pocket carry only, but they are hard to sew being very soft material and I don't look for any orders for those.

The Umfaan was one that made the canted sheath come about, as it was quite small and riding canted seem to work well. Then others wanted canted for the Sebenza, both sizes...

The slip sheath that Chris Reeve provides should give you years of good service!

Thanks for jumping in Gary. I am still trying to figure out if I want to do much belt carrying with my Umfaan. Right now I am just enjoying it in the slip pouch. I had thought of e-mailing you direct, but I wondered if anyone had bought a sheath for belt carry and just tried it out in the pocket.

I will get in touch if I decide to purchase a sheath. BTW... I ended up getting the zig-zag (I believe one of your favorites). I wasn't sure about the design at first, but now that I have it I really like it. Not overly flashy, but just enough flair to look simple and nice.

I only have one of G2's sheaths (I know what a concept :) )- and it is for a BIG balisong... I think my point was that if you talk to G2 he wil surely be able to accomodate you with near anythign you can think of.. he's real friendsly and down to earth..

I cant say anytign bad about his work or dealing with him.. but you prolly already know that :)
