I think <---Key word right there, that its another retention device. i.e. a pin goes through the sheath and knife.
Huh, I always thought it was a forward lanyard hole. I guess you learn something new every day.pin lock sheath
large copper/bronze rod that actually goes THROUGH the knife, and both sides of the sheath, locking in in. that's strong!
that old kenney rowe, go figure

He makes nice knives too... They are just SO damned expensive!someone has a tendency to write nasty lawyer letters if you put your hole in the wrong place![]()
This was brought up a while ago- someone wanted a foreward lanyard on their BK without changing the Grivory. It was discovered that you can take the scales off and put gutted paracord in the front hole (between the first and second screw holes from the blade) and then put the handles back on the cord would stay in place. The result was quite an efficient way of making a new attachment point to your body without modifying anything. That would be an awesome application of it, I love forward lanyard holes on the knives I have handles with them (yet to get one of my own, as Becker no longer produces a knife with a hole in the front and all of my next fixed blade purchases are planned to be BKT haha.
Yeah, and that top purple one is mine.
