Ethan I couldn't find my answer with Google, so I thought I'd come directly to the source. Did your original BK7 design have a sharpened swedge? Given the title "combat utility knife" I wondered if you followed in the tradition of the other great 7" combat utility knife, the USMC Ka-Bar. I realize the BK7 isn't exactly a clip point like the USMC, but having lots of sharp edges pointed at the enemy seems wise on paper at least.
A sharp swedge is fairly counter-productive to us civilian woods bums who want to baton wood, but for bringing democracy to foreign lands, maybe it has it's place?
