Question for webcam experts

Is there a fairly simple hook-up or workaround to get two separate webcams to work on one computer?

C'mon you guys - you are disappointing me here! Why can't you hook up two webcams to one computer? And if you can - please show me!

I'm not an expert but from the hardware side there is no problem with having two webcams, it would be the software that would need to support multiple cameras.

Thanks, frac - good link. However, all of those 'solutions' are way more ambitious than what I'm looking for! I just want to do this: hook up two separate Logitech webcams into separate USB ports and use each camera's included software to watch the video feeds in two separate windows on my monitor. I'd like a 'workaround' solution to do that...or...a simple explanation of why it won't work.
