I have an incoming William Henry Saturn, just the knife. I got a good deal on it as the blade has some scratches and shows signs of use. My plan is to send to WH for sharpening and maintenance. Would they be willing/able to reissue the COA for the knife?

I had lost a COA for one of my WH's that I bought from a jewelry store. They sent me a replacement. Free.

Ok, so a few months ago I bought a WH of e-bay. It is a lower end "B30 gentc Outback" with damascus blade and Ironwood scles.

Sent it in to WH for attention. They said they would replace an Ironwood scale, polish, refinish, resharpen and fix the lanyard loop for what seems to me to be a reasonably small charge.

I'll let you all know when itt comes back.

My question for those who know:

Where may I find info on what the vsrious model designations mean? What does B30 tell me and what does the other nomenclature indicate?

I can't help you much there I am trying to decipher that as well. Mine is a lower end B30 model as well, bought from a pawn shop and needing rescue. I think all the B30s have 3" blades, the B10, 2" Gentac stands for Gentlemens Tactical those are meant to be very nice EDCs. Can I ask if the cost was $35.00 as has been mentioned before? The scale replacement may effect that I guess.

'B30' is likely a code to prevent a counterfeit. The 'B30' likely appears in places only the maker knows about.

Some makers hide a code that matches the first code as well.

MKT does this, for example.

William Henry is a fantastic brand. Counterfeiters target such quality.

Well thei WH website refers several series of models B through E. Specific offerings on their website are identified with a letter-number combination such as B30, and a model name such as "Gentac" then a follow up name such as the "outback".

I can't find any explanation for what the parts of this nomenclature indicate in terms of size, blade profile or level of embellishment and price range.

While a knock off could be an issue, they said the S/N checks out and they havs it in hand now.

To answer the specific questions above: Purchase price from e-Bay was $240 with shipping and tax added. The cost of refurbishing will be over $50 but under $100 . . .haven't gotten the formal quote yet. In the end, this will not be a bargain.

They won't take PayPal which is a let down. Hard to keep the cost of my disorder on the down-low here at home if a check or CC is involved!

I can relate. I’m in the same boat as you bought for a bit less though. I think your is 750-1000 new? The B30 Saturn retailed for less than 500. Thanks the answer. Generally I find prices on the bay to be higher than they should be, but some deals do show up on the William Henry’s. If you have box and papers I think you did well.

I have a few William Henry knives, and one of them, a T-10 MOP got scratched up pretty badly by some guy who had a ring on and kept handling it. I sent it over and MH thoroughly repaired the damage, through I don't recall what they charged. It wasn't a whole lot. Another one (High Sierra) was purchased at a pawn shop by some guy for $18 and I bought it for $100 but it was really in rough condition. The frame is tool steel for the koftgari gold inlay and it was rusted. I took it completely apart and cleaned it, then polished the wood, then purchased a new case from WH. I wanted to keep the little marks on the scales as a part of the knifes' history. Someone originally paid quite a hefty amount for it and then it was used, or abused. WH is one of the best makers (studios?) to buy from as they are very kind and they have a good sense of humor as well. The other day I was watching a sailing video on YouTube and this great guy used a WH to open a bottle of bourbon. Matt Conable is very kind and rather funny, and you did well with your purchase.

I hasve received an e -mail from WH about my order that says they do not take PayPal. I understand that some folks don't use that oufit . . ..but that is the only ecommerce pay method I use right now. We will see if they will let me mail in a check. Waiting to hear back./

Just received the Saturn I bought from a pawn shop online. This little knife was driven hard, the blade has some scratches that can be felt with a fingernail. I have started sharpening it as it was pretty dull. Interestingly the edge is coming back little by little starting at the base and getting a little sharper towards the tip over time, Im using a small DMT diamond stone a Lansky round diamond, both seem to cut the ZDP ok, just slow. Anyway its going to be sent to WH for a make over shortly, so I suspect it will be like new when I get it back.
First impressions are its a very sturdy, exceptionally well made knife. It just needs some lovin.
