This may have been ask before, but has anyone took the scales off of the newer Victorinox with the swiss made tang stamp instead of the older Victorinox-switzerland stamp?

The reason I ask is most of the vics I have that had the old stamp have had the scales get loose after some use, easily fixed but the 3 or 4 with the new stamp,(and slightly thiner spine on the main blade) have not had this issue.
Even after hard use.

So does anyone know if they started using epoxy or a different sytem for holding the scales on?

Thank in advance,

I only had one scale come loose many years ago. I put a dab of epoxy on the pin and put the scale back and never had a problem.

These days I don't have any of the plastic handle saks aside from the classic on my keyring, just the alox. I now preffer the bomb proof feel of the checkered aluminum like on the Wenger SI and the cadet 2.

Yea a little epoxy does the trick,in my opinon thats the only weak point in vics, and your right about the alox modlels I have a few a farmer, solo, cadet, soldier, blue alox classic, and a silver money clip very rugged solid knives. But for me there is something about the shiny red and black scales (among others) and the nice thin blades on the standard models.

I wonder if Victorinox realized the scales were the weak point of there knives, adn started adding a little epoxy during assembly? I would just try poping one of but hate to sense there not causing any trouble.
