There seem to always be certain questions that continue to come up on a regular basis.

How about creating a Sticky just for the Kershaw Sub called Maintenance, Tinkering and Embellishment where we can post pics of disassembled Kershaws, leave tips on sharpening recurves, dealing with spinning pivot syndrome, creating FrankenKershaws, SpeedSafe break-in, etc.

I dunno, good idea or not?

i say it's a good idea.....maybe a step by step to taking apart a knife and putting it back together....i'm still too scared to try:D......info on replacing a torsion bar maybe.....i think it's a great idea.....ryan

Perhaps the sticky could contain links to threads where the subjects have already been covered. That'd mean someone has to search through the forum and organize it. Considering you can't search the forums unless you're a paying member it'd be a cool thing for new folks to have available.

i like the idea. alot. heck i just started my latest thread on something that would be considered that sorta subject lol

That, and a comment Slade made about wanting to see someone's knife disassembled, is what got me to this thread! ;)

I think it's a good idea but people tend to ignore sticky post for some reason, but at least we would have a single thread to point them to.

why thanks DV. i always get so into my disassemblies i forget to stop and take pics for the forum, but a sticky might be a good reference point for those first-timers who want to see what all the little pieces are when they try to put it back together and come up with an extra ;)

I personally dont make any mods to my Kershaws because i dont trust myself to not kill the knife, but for those of you who do make mods it is a brilliant idea

Someday you'll get the itch to open one up...perhaps play with the edge...then it's all downhill from there!

Great idea SPX. Having separate stickies for the main topics would be perfect.

I voted No... However... I changed my mind... its a great idea. But many idiots are still going to ignore the sticky.... Or at least not notice it...
But since k-shaw folders seem to be more complex than other folders, I see good reason for it.

The post last year on torsion bar replacement in min-cyclones was simply great.Frankly - this was a watershed for me - I used to use 'em until they quit working and then toss or return for factory service I'd sharpen and lubricate - but that was as far as it went. Now - if I get one that's sticky or includes a feature that I consider abysmal - they come apart and I do something about it. The posts on this forum ( and the great pics showing the blow by blow) - have been a tremendous help.
I also think that as models get discontinued - this information even has some value for the non-user collectors .

I agree. We have TWO threads designed for pictures, but everyone still starts their own threads. What happens is that they end up posting the pics in two or three threads causing even more clutter. I like the idea of the sticky, but they do get ignored by newbies.

+2 on that. I like the idea, but will it REALLY give us less clutter in the forum? We'll have to see. I voted yes.
