I've been interested getting in a Koster Nessmuk for a while now, but I need some input from you Nessmuk owners.

I want a full flat grind version, but I'm not sure what thickness to get. I would like 3/16" in 3v, but it seems that 3v can only be had in 1/8" or 1/4". I think 1/8" is just too thin and 1/4" may be too fat. How do y'all fell about your 1/4" Nessmuks. Does it still perform well as a slicer, skinner, and all around camp knife. I prefer the 3v, but I will not take it in 1/8". I'm afraid it will make the edge TOO thin. I might end up getting the 3/16" in o1, depending on the responses I get.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Pics also appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I like bigger knives in 3/16", but the size of the nessie Dan makes I think lends itself to 1/8th. One that size in 3V oughtta be a great slicer.

If you want it for tougher tasks, though, like a lot of battoning or the like, then go 3/16ths. I think the 1/4" in a knife this size is just overkill.

Thanks, Andrew. I do want a great slicer, but I want something a bit thicker than the 1/8". I think 1/4" might be overkill too. I might just end up going with the 3/16" o1.

If anyone has pics of the 1/4" Nessmuk in hand that would be great. A nice spine shot would be great too. Thanks.
