Hi
I'm considering buying the 770cf and have a question.
How is the liner lock attached to the cf scale?
Does it appear sturdy?
I like the look of the knife and the weight is a big plus but I'd not want to buy a knife at this price to only use now and then. I'd like to EDC it.
It would likely replace my current EDC ZT566.
Thanks for the input,
Kai

It's well constructed. Don't hesitate. It's bar none the best mid sized ZT to date.

It's hard to describe, but it looks the same as a blur, Google pictures of dissembled Blurs and you'll get the idea. Solid construction, it certainly punches above it's weight class

I can't say how the linerlock is attached, but it is pretty sturdy. You won't regret the purchase. It's a fantastic knife, gorgeous, light, great blade profile, comfortable in the hand, and deep carry clip. I bought mine to carry during the work week (office environment), but it still occasionally finds it's way into my pocket on weekends, much to the disappointment of my weekend knives.

I am no expert, but the liner lock appears to be attached to the CF scales unless it is held under a lip and held in with the pivot pin. Great knife. You'll love it. It immediately went into my pocket and have been carrying it every day since.

It's a great design, but I prefer the aluminum version personally.
Can't go wrong.

I believe that the liner lock isn't attached directly to the scales but sandwiched between the scale and the solid backspacer.

The liner lock is attached using the upper two screws that hold the backspacer in. Below is a pic of the 0770 aluminum handled version. It's the same inset liner design, but the aluminum one has standoffs instead of a solid backspacer (which actually makes it easier to see how the liner lock is fit in).

The 0770CF is very sturdy (as is the 0770). It will definitely hold up to regular use (for appropriate uses for a knife, of course ;)).

That makes sense flarp. I saw the screws but really wasn't sure it the lock was held in place with them.

I am really starting to fall in love with this knife. I've been an 0551/0801 man for a while now, but have been eyeballing this one for about 2 weeks now.

I love the blade shape and the fact that it's so lightweight.
