Hello Hogs,

I've been reading up on Busse's and their other families of knives for a little while now and have FINALLY decided on the knife that meets my needs and fits my requirements. What I want is an NO E. Now here's my question:

Any idea how easy/difficult it might be for me to find that knife? I know it was last made in 2001, and I figure that means it's probably not too easy to find, but I'm hoping you people can guide in the right direction. I do NOT want to get killed on it, so any ideas about what I might hope to pay would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance people. I'm glad to have access to this great source of information.

Check the Exchange. Seems like there was one there not long ago.

Welcome to the trough. :)

First off: The NO-E is one of my favorite knives. Great choice.

Secondly: They really are not hard to find, especially if you post a WTB thread in the exchange. I have seen them sell from $350.00 to $500.00 depending on the condition, sheath or not sheath, etc...

As Guyon said, they are on the exchange often and I also saw one there recently.

Go get'em and remember to let us know how you do. ;)

I think Madjack has one with a sheath ready to go.

I got the Hell Razor in thread and Jack took great care of me. Wished I could have gotten both.

Look him up great seller:thumbup::thumbup::D

Wow...the markup on those is more than I was expecting. I guess that's what happens when a knife is out of production for a little while. I don't know if I can justify that kinda dough. Might hafta start looking at that Fehrman I liked.

Try a BATAC. My SE version could handle everything my NO-E could. Even the CG versions are beasts. And they are much lower priced.

I appreciate the advice, but I was hoping for a 6" blade, versus the BATAC's 5", and I'm more partial to the aesthetics of the NO E as well. The other knife I like a lot, the Fehrman looks very similar to the NO E and only gives up .5". I would much rather have the Busse, though.

Yeh, :D

Not quite sure I'm ready for you people yet. Maybe I'll post a WTB anyway, though, and see what rears its head. I thought I was a bit crazy for throwing 170$ at a CQC-8 in December. My wife would think I'm crazy if I tell her the tag on this...:(

If you are talking about a Ferhman Last Chance its a great knife, I have one.Could consider a Scrapyard scrapper 6 or Swamprat M6 as well. The ASH-i are only 300 standard at BUsse right now but you will have to wait a bit.

also...just dont tell her, I dont tell mine!!

Thanks for the info, and yes, the Fehrman Last Chance is what I'm looking at, or maybe a Rat RC6 when that drops. As for the Swamprats, I'm having trouble finding images of their designs. Their website doesn't seem to be too informative...that or I'm just an idiot for not being able to navigate it.

Swamp Rats, like Busses, are made in batches for the most part, so there's not a constant inventory of a wide range of knives. The last Swamp Rats offered were the Chopweilers and the Rat Wardens.

There are a few versions of Swamp Rat knives still offered here:

You can find a lot of the older Swamp Rat pics here: http://www.swampshack.com/

You might consider a swamp rat M6. It's a beast of a knife and you should be able to find one on the exchange for a decent price ($190 - $230 range).

The M6 is indeed a very nice piece however, once you handle a Busse, you are hooked. I don't understand it, can't explain it, and won't even try. Life is short, save your money and get what you want. It will last you a lifetime and you will never look back. (just use some honey hole stash to make up the difference) Its worth it.

Then post some pics of using it!!!!!!!!!! We luv pics

bwahahahahahaha...man, you people are well practiced. I've used some of those strategies before, specificically on my Saddleback Leather satchel...however, we're looking to buy a new house in the next 6 months (I know...and what's worse is that we hafta sell one first...IN MIAMI!!!) and she'll give me the stinkface for sure.
