Hello everyone. I've lurked on here intermittently for a while, but I've reached a point where I thought I'd try to get some specific opinions. To explain the situation I guess it's best to say I'm a bowie guy. Love my bowies. As a result, I'm getting one made to my specifications..handle, material, blade size, ect..but I find myself with a question. The question involves grind. Flat grind as opposed to saber. I spend quite a bit of time outdoors, so the knife I have in mind going to be a work horse. Batoning, chopping, splitting, cutting, the whole nine yards. I currently carry an Ontario RAT-7 for the purpose and have no complaints with the knife other than I want something with a thicker spine and a longer blade, and being partial to the bowie design I elected to go that route. What do you guys recommend when it comes to the blade grind for what I'm looking to put this knife through? Any input is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.
