Question/Frustration buying a knife

Been trying to purchase a CRK Umnumzan new and very availible they run $450 ship free
Just one example
Im on the CRK Buy sell trade on FB and a few others sites, and these guys/girls have them pre owned light wear for same price or within 50 bucks. Then they want to charge for shipping.
I figure they negotiate. Nope. Why would anyone not pay the exact same price from an authorized dealer? The more common ones with Micarta inlay same issue.
I get if the knife was very rare. But what am I missing? How does one get a better price?
At this point Im on the road to just buying new I'm guessing.

The market sets the price.

If the price on used CRK's isn't dropping, people must be buying.
 
CRK's hold their value pretty well and if individuals are selling them(making the sale) at that, they aren't going to drop the price, but I sure wouldn't pay it. I like a decent discount for anything used(that is anything not from a dealer) that is still available through a dealer. There is always more risk buying from an individual, form never getting the item to not as described. That said I buy almost all my CRK's used/off the exchanges. It just takes a lot of looking and patience to get decent prices. Act fast when they do come up-good deals don't hang around.

Crk hold value really well and always will. Only recently have more people been dropping prices below what they should be going for because more and more people are buying them.
 
I've bought a couple knives from the CRK - BST page and I agree the prices there seem to be a little inflated for some of the offerings. However, I have found a couple hard to find knives there. It's a good place to find some of the hard to find models for sure. But, you're going to pay for them in some cases.

Zaans are pretty popular and tend to sell fast. If you're looking for a deal on a user, keep an eye out here or possible Reddit. But again, they go quick. I bought a user here a while back for a great price.

yep just do like most of us did and bite the bullet and just get it from one of the forum supporters like bladehq or knifeart

please consider, just because spandex is involved, does NOT mean it really is the same person... I mean, consider this: would you really like to give that much 'power' the previous spandex associated bf member? Let's not wreck spandex for the rest of us ok? : p
 
Strange to have people trolling me being rude. I asked a Friendly question. My husband and I both frequent Blade forums not sure why I have to explain that? It only always one person and because I’m sweeter and not so responsive to people who are mean I’m on it mostly. If you don’t have something nice to say please just keep scrolling
