Does anyone make a compact flashlight that attaches to the Back-of-the-hand? This would be good for hand-free operation. The light will point in the same direction as the wrist. and better than a sleeve for flashlights.

Or alternatively, how about some accessory that attaches a compact LED flashlight to the back of the hand?

Hoping for enlightenment.

a rubber band?

Sorry, couldn't resist...

Seriously though, it might work, but usually the back of your hand doesnt' point in the same direction as you finger when you're 'doing something'.

I velcro'd a Photon light to my watchband. It isnt real secure, but it is there. I can back it up with a rubberband or little cable tie and would glue it on if I could figure out how to change batteries.

Back in the old days, like the 1980s, some SWATters used a mount that strapped a full size flashlight like a Mag to the forearm. I havent seen one on the market for quite a while.

You might want to check out some Scuba / Dive Shops, maybe those who specialize in Cave Diving. I bought a wrist mount specifically made for a Prinston Tektronics Dive Light for use here FL caves/caverns. This was about 10 years ago, haven't looked recently.

The original finger light was called the Nighthawk. I don't know if the more recent versions are an improvement. (I also doubt you need to pay $60 for the IDF version.)

I've tried rubberbanding a Photon II to my watchband but it doesn't work very well; the hand tends to block the light. A finger light works surprisingly well. My favorite is a headband or hat rig, though. I usually wear a bandanna headband anyway so I can just pull a small LED flashlight out of my pocket and clip it on -- the ARC AAA and some others come with a clip, or you can attach a clip to any flashlight with a little tape or a rubber band. If you're in the habit of wearing a baseball cap you can clip a light to the bill. If you don't wear anything on your head you can get a small headlamp and keep it in your pocket with the strap attached and you'll find you can use it as a handheld flashlight just as well as any flashlight, and slip it on your head any time you need both hands free.
