Question:Heat treat, Knife depth in oil?

Hi this is Daqo'tah

when heat treating 52100 steel in texaco type "A" quenching oil....what depth into the oil quench should I allow the cutting edge to go to?

I seek to etch this blade and get a great looking temper line showing the heat treating,,,But I have forgotten how deep to lay the knife into the oil..

(yes, I know I should have writen this down,,and this time I will)

I usually shoot for just under 1/2 the width of the blade, or just over a third of the width of the blade so approximately 2/5 or the blade width is in the oil.
