Question: Is the guard on the SAR8 Substantial Enough

I really like the look of the SAR8, but I've often wondered to myself whether the finger guard is substantial enough to stop the fingers slipping over onto the blade?

This isn't a criticism, I've never sadly handles one so my musings are worth nothing. I just wondered whether any SAR8 owners had any thoughts on the matter

Cheers

Considering there are lots of knives that don't even have fingerguards... yes!

But I can see where your worry comes from. The handle is not shaped in a way that discourages the grip slipping up toward the blade. In fact, maybe it almost encourages it since it swells toward the pommel. But then maybe this is where that jimping really helps, and the choke point before the guard feels really good, too.

I got to hold a few SAR 8s at Blade. Lovely knife. It will definitely be my next INFI purchase. It's lot lighter than it looks.

No problems on the grip IMO ...

If you're sitting on your hand before you fondle your knife ... you might have a problem ... but that is'nt the knife's fault ... it's yours for confusing your "weapons" :D

I have a SARGE7... no issues there. It doesnt have a guard, but offers a fine grip; as long as your grasp is firm, I doubt you'll slide much, even with a strong thrust. Hope that helped!
