I am not a knife expert by any means, but I find them interesting, and I buy knives from time to time because I either want to display them, or use them in the kitchen (I love to cook, and I LOVE good kitchen tools).
Is there a running thread for people who have knives they may not know the ID of, but want to see if they can find out? Or is there a forum section devoted to a "show and tell" type format?
I have a HUGE knife that I assume is a kitchen knife of some type, and I found it at a garage sale or thrift store years ago. I have no idea what it is, but someone told me (at some point along the way) that they thought it might be a French-made chef's knife.
Anyway......I was just wondering if there is a place I can go to look for information on identifying marks, shapes, handle types, etc...
