question of style, black or silver skull clip

Well my commander arrived, and it's a good one (lock up slightly better than my friends commander)

My question is, on a black/hard chrome plain edge commander, should i go with the black skull clip, or the silver. I think the silver was made for the green emersons, but i still think the chrome blade with silver clip would look neat.

side note, anyone else find that they actualy enjoy the chisel edge on the commander? it does some things so well.

Personally I would prefer a silver/satin clip on an HC Bladed Emerson with the standard Black G-10 handles, as I feel that it looks nicer that way...I would usually prefer these Combinations:

All Black: BT Blade,Black G-10,All Black Hardware

BlackGreen: Black/HC Blade,OD G-10,Black Hardware

SilverBlack: HC Blade,Black G-10, Silver Hardware
 
i like black on black, but the silver are cool too, and i am not particularly enamored of the emerson blade bevel designs, but they are certainly functional, hard to sharpen till ya get used to them though imho

I feel the black handle begs for a black skull clip. If it were green, then I'd recommend the satin clip.

I think you'll be happier with the black, it really finishes off the whole package.
 
I was very skeptical of the Emerson edge geometry... Until I used one. Now I love it. I found that chisel edges are much easier to sharpen freehand than conventional edges are. They don't feel as sharp to the touch but damned if they can't out-cut any other knife in my collection.
 
I have a hard chrome finished Mini CQC-7B and I polished the black coating off of the thumb disc, pivot pin and handle screws and it looks great. I ordered a satin finish clip to replace the black one, but if you have a Black T coated blade, I would choose the black clip with the skull logo.
 
I am usually drawn towards black clips. My EDC Commander has a black skull clip. It also draws far less attention to the knife when it is clipped to my pocket. People notice my Al Mar SERE and my Microtech Amphibian much more often due to the grey or polished clips.

On the other hand, now I probably will buy a silver skull clip just for the hell of it because "you guys" got me thinking about it!
