Question: How much does a house weigh?
Answer: Apparantly, just a tad more than a rural two lane bridge can hold!

That's it. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight aboooouuuuuttttt, there. Yes, I would say set 'er down right about there....looks like a good spot. Won't even need to put in a driveway.

Great job crew! Not even one broken window.

Now the real question: Should this be covered by homeowners insurance, car insurance....ooooorrrrrrrrrr.....does it come under roadside assistance???

Oh, my. Did they ever get it out? In one piece?

I was wondering the same thing, It would be a fairly expensive bit of engineering to do, but I guess you could lift it and build the support back under it. I really hope the mover was well insured! Steven

Water front property with a view, I wonder how much his taxes will go up if he just parks it there.

that is about the best water veiw I've seen. I should know I work on martha's vineyard! If you've never seen a house being moved it's really cool stuff. Especially when it comes to lifting the chimeny! Just recently had to build a base of a chimeny up to the exsisting unit. Kinda hairy, this thing was put together over atleast 80 years ago, then had another one added to it later. They put this thing together with everything but thought. Not to mention all the head knocks from the steel! Hasn't come down yet so we must have done something right.
I'm a mason not a mover but they are a unique breed let me tell you!! They are able to get themselves out of some tight spots though.

Paul

and oh yeah their insurance is outrageuos, even before that!

Did you see the lighthouse move on Block Island about 10 years ago? My wife's family is from there and she took me over to see some of the prep work.
