Hey all,
I have a older Blur model with the rough texture (sandpaper) trac inserts. I never carry it for this reason. It wears holes in jeans, barks my knuckles when I put my hand in my pocket, etc.

Can we send these back to Kershaw to have the newer rubber inserts installed?

I really like the knife, it just not very user friendly with those rough as cob inserts !

My guess would be no, but it couldn't hurt to call Kershaw warranty and ask if they will send you
a set of the rubberized inserts and put them on yourself. I think it would be worth a shot and you
have nothing to lose by making a phone call.

Agreed. Shoot them an email or give them a call and ask if they'll do a replacement of the inserts. If not, do ask if they'll send the new style of inserts. At the very least, you'll get a [very polite] answer; at medium, you'll have to do a little work to replace them yourself; at best, they'll do it for you.

You've got nothing to lose by contacting customer service! :)

yeah I know what you mean ,I've thought of taking them out myself and putting in, maybe some horse stall material in the handles and epoxy it .

You could get some 3M Stair Step tape and replace the insets. It comes in black with a rough surface, probably close to what is already there. I use it to cover clips. But there is also a rubbery surface 3M tape that would work perfectly. I've only seen it in a gray color, which is nice looking, but I think it does come in other colors also. Good stuff that has a great adhesive to let it stay put!:)

Thanks for the replies all !
Cutter I may have to see if I can find some of that 3M stuff ! Sounds like just the ticket ! Gray would be perfect.

If I can't find any and CS doesnt have any replacements. Theres always duct tape
