i am interested in maybe a kifaru express (http://kifaru.net/MGexpress.htm), and i am wondering about how you kifaru (or any other high-end pack owners) deal with water? i'm talking rain, snow, spray, etc... are these packs waterproof? if not, how do you keep your stuff dry?

thanks!

You can pay a large wad for a bergen liner by firms like Ortlieb.

Or - as I do - you can use a bin liner!

Another good bit of kit is the humble A4 sized ziplock plastic bag. Store clothing etc. in these.

My old Lowe came with a "shower cap" style over cover, just pull out and snap over. mine needs a re treatment on the inside but i Also use a large trash bag now over the bag with the shower cap holding it in place, has worked for years.

hmm.... i'm not liking those options... it just seems like wet weather bags and wet weather cover are all kinds of inconvenient, especially for everyday carrying. the only reason why i stick with messenger bags is cause they are generally very waterproof.

but i'm commuting (cycling) farther than i used to since i've moved apts., i'm needing to haul a lot more (clothes, groceries, shoes, books)... i'm thinking about a chrome sultan... but for they just looks soooo goofy.
