Question on a leather sheath for the EDC

I put in a PRE-Order for two of the 2024 3" EDC knives on Friday, while waiting for the knives, I thought that I would watch for a leather sheath or two for them on the exchange. My question is, does anyone know if all the EDC versions are close enough that any leather sheath made for the versions prior to the 2024 version will fit? Thanks for any info.

You might want to post this in the ‘Random Thoughts’ thread under CPK. The guru’s are there as well as some fantastic sheath makers.

Or post question under ‘Ask Nathan a Question’
 
I think I’ll be trying to grab something once mine comes as well. I have had two of Pirtle’s and they are awesome. I also would love to try a Duramax, Jofuu or Lorien one. They all look awesome too and get great reviews on here from other members. I know some of the other members are working on sheaths as well but those are some of the ones that come to mind.
 
I'm just trying to find out if sheaths already made for previous EDC versions will fit the 2024 version. I don't want to move my question to "Random thoughts" or Ask Nathan a question" because the question and answers will get buried or intermixed with other subjects.
 
I have an EDC 2 here and I did get in on the pre-order. I don’t recall seeing anything in Nathan’s post about any tweaks to the EDC3 but I could be wrong. And that’s my excuse to buy the EDC3 lol.

I totally understand not wanting your question getting buried, and since one of the great sheath makers is on this thread now, you should get an answer pretty soon.

Ultimately it comes down to who made the sheath and which model it is for. As an example, Jofuu was mentioned and his sheaths are universal fit by size, not knife specific. I make my current EDC sheaths on an EDC2, which works for the EDC1, but once an EDC1 is carried in it for any period the EDC2 may be a little loose.

I am going to get one of the current versions as well and will compare specs as soon as I can. My goal would be to make one model of sheath that can be used in any of the versions, I just don't recommend using one sheath for all of them because small differences may make the sheath fit more loosely.

Jo and I have not yet discussed if there will be a leather option in the preorder group. You may be able to get one there and save a little money if you don't want Kydex.

Between two hurricanes and perpetual school closures I have not been working much, but I do plan at least a couple of EDC sheath runs in the near future. I am also launching my ExpressLine sheaths which will be the same quality and materials as my custom sheaths at roughly half the price.
