I'm new to knives and don't yet have a feel for the retail "lay of the land"--just web sites I've visited but I don't know the reputations behind the sites.

I'm thinking about making a purchase from BestKnives. Are they a reliable dealer? Thanks.

If you'll look in the Exchange section here at bf.c, you'll see a fourm called, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." This is where you can find out who's been naughty and who's been nice.

You can also use the search feature here at bf.c to search the entire site for references to a specific dealer. This can be very valuable.

Thanks for the great links. I've bookmarked them already! I bought a BM 940D2CF from New Graham a couple of weeks ago. Service was fantastic and the shipping turnaround was lightning fast. I also got a cool package of Band-Aids with the purchase. I hope they don't come in handy, but they might. :-)

Thanks also for the tip about forum hosts. I didn't realize that and put their URL in my bookmarks as well. This is a terrific service they offer.

I used the search function over in Exchange (I previously know that existed) and found lots of stuff of dealers over there. Folks had some good experiences with BestKnives so I am pleased. (I had ordered a small Sebenza Classic a while ago and was getting nervous when it didn't arrive--turns out it was backordered so I'm relieved now about the purchase).
